This roof top at the walker hotel has the best happy hour menus from 4-6pm. I would suggest their spicy margarita or spritz. They have only been open since June. The views of the city are amazing and staff is very friendly. There is also a lovely hotel lobby area with tons of room to do work. You can also order coffee and pastries.

  • Anyone else excited for NY summer sunsets?! I took this photo this time last year. No filter, nothing. Personally, I always recommend heading over to the west side to run down Hudson River Park! It’s beautiful & running around is a great way to see your new city!

  • SeaGlass Carousel is a true gem! It's extremely well-made, right down to the tiny details, dreamy soundtrack, and psychedelic lighting. It's as if you've been miraculously transported beneath the sea! Even the structure is designed to resemble a modern seashell. It was well worth the drive to Battery Park! A ride for adults and children of all ages, but especially for children whose eyes will light up in this environment. The amusement attraction is located in Battery Park, near where the Statue of Liberty ferry departs. It's an indoor carousel with glass windows that allow you to take in the environment. It costs $5 per ride, but it's a one-of-a-kind experience. These are Glasslike Giant Sea Creatures that go up, down, and all around, rather than the wooden horses that typical Carousels feature. When you ride them, you'll feel as though you're under the sea, receiving a ride from one of the Ocean's inhabitants. In Battery Park, there is an absolutely STUNNING, ethereal ride! It's a lot more than just a carousel! These beautiful pastel fish that light up, spin, and turn are a lot of fun to ride! Unlike a regular carousel, there are three independent circles that rotate. The 'under the water' music, shifting colorful lights, and the way the fish glide up and down makes it all feel so wonderful and weightless! A must-try for anyone with children, or for anyone who is a big kid themselves!

  • I've been bringing our dog Tobi 'Worth Street Veterinary Center' since he was a puppy for the past three years. It's worth the trip downtown, even if it's in Tribeca and may be further than your neighborhood vet. The staff is wonderful, and they are highly well-organized and competent. I can call/email every time I need something during or after an appointment and get exactly what I need in a quick and professional manner. We had a lot of first-time pet questions as Yoshi was growing up, and they were always there to answer them. They walked us through neutering surgery/recovery, dental hygiene, sensitive stomach issues, and which foods to try as we graduated from puppy kibble to adult food. Not only are the veterinarians great, but the vet techs and front desk employees are also extremely attentive and communicative. Despite the fact that their business has grown, they continue to provide excellent service and top-notch veterinarians.

  • In a bookstore, what do you look for? Do you have a lot of books? Is there a warm environment here? A plush green couch to relax on while you peruse the offerings? Wall-to-wall shelves stacked with the best English-language mysteries? There will be plenty of signed editions to give as gifts? Everything and more may be found at Mysterious Bookshop at Tribeca. It's like walking into someone's secret library—you'll find all you need here if you enjoy mysteries and thrillers. The incredibly warm design is what immediately drew my attention - rows and rows of books adorning every square inch of the walls. The walls stretched 12 feet up into the ceilings, comfortably intruding on me. I felt bad about buying any of the neatly arranged rows of books as I walked into the store. Even the loss of a single book would have thrown the cozy allure of the clandestine bookshop into disarray. It's an excellent bookshop with a huge selection and a kind, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. I always buy books for my father, who enjoys mysteries, and the staff is wonderful at choosing books that he will enjoy. I'm very looking forward to reading Andrea Cammielieri's new book. They also provide enjoyable quick reads such as "crust no one: a bread store mystery." A great local independent business and a great book for everyone.

  • If you are a big movie fan like me, you know that the UWS is the setting for a ton of beloved movies. Take yourself on a neighborhood stroll and see if you can locate these iconic movie spots! Every time I walk The Dakota on 1 West 72nd Street, I think of Mia Farrow in 1968’s, Rosemary’s Baby, waiting to move into the Bramford. Kevin McCallister first meets the Pigeon Lady in Central Park in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York as chaos ensues. Natalie Portman’s character takes the train every day to rehearse at Lincoln Center for her pivotal role as the Black Swan. Maybe most iconically, in the 1984 classic comedy, Ghostbusters, the Soft Puft Marshmallow Man tramples across The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 3 West 65th Street with Bill Murray’s character shouting, “Nobody steps on a church in my town!” And 55 Central Park West is as much of a main character in that movie as Murray, Aykroyd, Ramis, or, Slimer!
