Most recently I am moving from NYC to Washington, DC. Though I was expecting a bigger discount in rent (relative to NY pricing) I found that new leases were more aggressively priced than I thought. I was also expecting that the moving costs would be a little bit more (for a full apartment move), but the total move was close to $3000 after talking to a few different movers. Given the tight timeline, next time I move I am sure to go check out more neighborhoods before ultimately selecting one to live in.
