The Prospect Heights Historic District is the fifth largest historic district in New York City. What was once a sleepy enclave bounded by Flatbush Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, Washington Avenue, Eastern Parkway and Prospect Park, Prospect Heights now has multiple personalities. While its southern blocks are still known for their gorgeous Italianate and Neo-Grec brownstones and picturesque tree-lined streets, the new Pacific Park development, with the Barclays Center and numerous residential high rises, has taken over the northern side of the neighborhood west of Vanderbilt. Along the southern boundary on Eastern Parkway from Grand Army Plaza to Washington Avenue, Prospect Heights is reminiscent of Museum Mile in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Prospect Heights is filled with delicious restaurants and cultural hubs, including libraries, museums, live music venues and parks. #prospectheights

  • Ample Hills – One of the best local ice cream shops in Brooklyn has a legendary location here in Prospect Heights that even Questlove used to frequent! This is a must-add. Alta Calidad – One of my all-time favorite date spots for dinner is the innovative Mexican cuisine and menu available at this Prospect Heights restaurant that also won the 2018 Michelin Bib Award. Try the queso fundido, tacos, or the al pastor plate. 1 of a Find Vintage – It’s no doubt that Brooklyn is home to some of the best vintage and thrifting shopping in the city! There is a vintage shop that sells men’s and women’s clothing along with accessories and other items!

  • Here are some unique things about PH: 1. There's a Spaceship Tank that drives around: If you haven't seen the famous Spaceship Tank, you're in for a real kooky treat. The silver spaceship/tank/car can be spotted driving around NYC but is typically seen in Prospect Heights. The illusive vehicle is actually a Chevrolet Blazer is clad in stainless steel, according to Untapped New York. It belongs to Charles Walters, a co-owner of Williamsburg Pizza Crew. 2. Grand Army Plaza has an incredible Greenmarket One can shop a huge array of fresh produce at this green market in Brooklyn’s Grand Army Plaza every Saturday. The second-largest market behind Union Square Greenmarket, this open-air collection of vendors offers baked goods from Baker’s Bounty and Bread Alone, plus locally-sourced fruits, vegetables, dairy, and meat from New Jersey, Connecticut, and upstate New York farmers. One can see a full list of vendors here. 3. The second highest point in Brooklyn is here: Mount Prospect is the second-highest point in Brooklyn and was used by the Continental Army as a lookout point during the Revolutionary War's Battle of Brooklyn in 1776. #prospectheights #unique
