I was 10 when I first did horseback riding. I remember it vividly because I broke my leg while doing that. Since then, I never got a chance to experience that exhilaration. Last week, I shifted to the Bronx and the first thing that I decided to do was to get myself enrolled at the Bronx Equestrian Centre. It’s located at the Pelham Bay Park close to the City Island so anyone who wants to join, can find me riding the stallion in the evening! The horses are really cool and friendly, it seems they have been trained really well. The trail rides are amazing, it almost seems that you are not in the city anymore. You can plan on taking your kids there too as they have beautiful ponies ready to be taken for a trail ride. My daughter was really happy so I know it’s worth the money that you spend. Avoid shooting videos while you are riding, there is a possibility that you might drop your camera and never find it. Trust me when I say this!! Bronx Equestrian Centre, remember this place whenever you think of horse riding!

History never fails to amuse me. Exquisite mansions, makes you reminisce about the lifestyle of people with great influence. If you are in or near Pelham Bay Park, do not miss exploring Bartow-Pell Mansion. A neoclassical stone mansion which almost dates back to 1836, is a classic and also a national landmark. It doesn’t feel like a traditional museum setting but is definitely pristine. When you enter the mansion, you can notice high style Greek revival interiors. From beautifully detailed parlors with fluted columns, elaborate door and window surrounds and pocket doors to the exquisite oval stairs and the orangery, a sun filled room with tall windows is an extremely unusual feature for an American house of this vintage. The Pell family and their Bartow descendants owned the mansion and thousands of surrounding acres since 1654. Going further inside, you can notice vintage Wine Coolers restored and beautifully displayed. The garden encircling the mansion is just mesmerizing and further down the estate, there is water feeding out the Pelham Bay. Well, this mansion is one of its kind and definitely worth the visit.
