Visiting Louis' house was an amazing experience. It's not some huge celebrity mansion, it's a fairly modest family house in a residential street, but every aspect inside was created by the Armstrong's for their comfort and it's a place that they obviously loved being. Louis Armstrong was undeniably the most influential musician of the last century and IMHO the greatest musician that this planet has ever produced. He was also a great and generous human being, even casually giving away the trumpet presented to him by the King of England, to a fellow trumpeter who admired it backstage! (that trumpet is now back in the house museum, having been donated by that trumpeter's widow). The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable on the subject.
