I've lived in the south my whole life, and on top of that, with the exception of a recent five-year stretch of time, it has been out in the suburbs (and even further out, if that's a thing). So, when it comes to maneuvering the city, it has been a matter of driving.
I've only visited NYC but now considering it as a place to live. I am honestly fretting about the subway. I understand that it is significantly organized and, by all accounts, considered very user-friendly. Still, the country girl in me is low-key terrified of winding up exactly opposite of where I'm supposed to be!
So, with that being said, how was your first experience with the subway system, and how did you eventually figure it out?
Oh! And when I visited, it was for a weekend, and I was visiting friends, so I literally just followed along.
