  • Tasked with countering a dramatic 60-story skyscraper designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Noguchi designed a circular sunken garden below the surface of the nearly block-long plaza alongside it. Noguchi had seven natural stones (transplanted from the Uji River in Japan) set on a modulated surface of cream-colored granite and interspersed with water elements and (initially) small shrubs. He would later refer to the commission as “my Ryoanji,” an homage to the renowned temple garden in Kyoto, which, similarly, can be viewed only from a distance.

  • I was in heaven at Kesté Pizza & Vino. My partner and I were looking for a low-key supper, and they happen to have gluten-free pizza and other gluten-free options. The only drawback was that we were sitting in a hallway area with a couple of large parties across from us and a two-top next to us, making it difficult to communicate with my partner. There was a lot of "What?!?" as if we were an elderly couple who had forgotten to adjust their hearing aids. Because I couldn't hear or talk with my lover, I felt like an elderly lady in there. In such instances, I also become strange and don't want to speak too much since I don't want other tables to hear my talk. I'm not in the witness protection program or discussing classified information, but I also don't want the individuals sitting next to me to know about my personal life. We ordered the artichoke salad and two gluten-free meatballs as appetizers because I had been craving meatballs for a long time. The meatballs were outstanding. The artichoke salad was tasty, however it was mostly made up of artichokes with a lot of cheese on top. I was hoping for a more traditional salad, but it was tasty. You must visit this restaurant, especially if you are gluten-free. There are also pizza-making classes available, which might be enjoyable.

  • Fulton Center is one of the few "beautiful" transport hubs in the world. They were still rebuilding this place to make it what it is now when I worked downtown. I had to go downtown for work recently and was finally able to see this station. Some people may find the layout complicated, but there is signage everywhere, so if you can read, you'll soon figure it out. There are a number of entrances to the street level as well, however they all lead to the same location. The station is well-lit, which is almost unheard of in the New York subway system. Before going through the turnstiles to board your train, there are stores and places to visit. There are numerous metro lines that pass through this area, making transfers and other activities easier. New Yorkers might be a little happier if every station looked half as good as Fulton. However, the stylish new stations come at a high price, and we wind up paying far too much per journey.

  • I moved to 95 Wall apartments in the Financial District three weeks ago and have been blown away by the building. I enjoy my time here. The facility is lovely, and it's in a fantastic position, but it's the personnel that makes this place work so well. Everyone in the main office, the front desk staff, the maintenance crew, the porters, and so on is amazing and works extremely hard. The building's internet portal was extremely user-friendly, and the majority of service requests were completed almost instantly. On the second floor, the valet is unbeatable, where your parcels are safely stored and dry cleaning may be picked up and dropped off. The architecture is immaculate and has the feel of a boutique hotel. The flats share a similar ambiance. Flex walls can also be installed, making it more reasonable for young people to rent a studio with a private sleeping room. There is a lovely rooftop where you may sunbathe, study, or hang out with friends. The gym appears to be in excellent condition, with clean and up-to-date equipment. During the week, there is also a breakfast, which is a terrific option for students and workers on the go. The tenants we met while touring the complex were all very nice and seemed to like living there. The location is ideal, being close to subways, the waterfront, and shopping.
