It used to be a nice, quiet neighborhood, but now there is a lot of development. There are many food and drink options, but they are not always pleasant to be around, especially at nighttime. The Gardens are nice for walks.
We’re about to sign on a 1br in Forest Hills, but coming from Brooklyn, I’m worried about how far we’ll be from a Whole Foods. Are the farmers markets here decent? The fruit looked a little picked over, but it was sort of late in the day. Organic foods are very important to us.
I would recommend you Forest Hills Greenmarket.
Located in front of the Forest Hills Post Office, this neighborhood Greenmarket boasts a variety of locally grown, fresh products. Throughout the season, the market will offer free cooking demonstrations, kids activities, and the opportunity to mingle with neighbors, all while getting to know the regional farmers who grow your food.
This summer I went to see my favorite DJ Rufus du Sole at the Forest Hill stadium. Before this concert I didn’t even know this stadium exist. It’s the cleanest nicest stadium I have been in New York. The food court area has a bunch of turf in the group where people felt it was clean enough to even sit down and hang out. It was an easy train ride from the city as well. Make sure to go check it out.
Looking for recommendations for movers in/near FH? Prepping for my move to Park Slope, so it’s local. I’m moving out of my 1br next month and just want to be prepared. Let me know if you’ve got someone good and affordable.
Parents! Tell me more about Russell Sage Playground here please! I see that it’s clean and organized, lots of spaces for activities, has a mini water park, jungle gym… Do you recommend it to go with toddlers?
Amazing parks with evergreen trees, friendly people, convenient access to public transport, developed infrastructure of banks, schools and colleges. The area is safe and well-balanced, in addition, the surroundings and streets are very diverse.
Kind of a fun fact - Forest Hills residents are eating some of the most produce in the city. According to a survey by nyc.gov, 93% percent of residents eat some fruits and vegetables every day, which is higher than the NYC average of 87%
his has been the best Italian restaurant in Prescott that I have eaten at. Great atmosphere, clean, staff were very friendly and accommodating, The portions were huge (be prepared to take a doggie bag home with you). The food was fantastic. Exactly what you would expect if you were eating at a restaurant in Italy. I highly recommend and I will definitely be going back. We were a large party so we had to wait for a table. It was DEFINITELY worth the wait! We ordered The Godfather’s pizza and a meat lover's pizza. It was fast and fresh. The service was wonderful. I highly recommend eating here if you’re in Prescott.
