Fun fact: Christopher Wallace, a.k.a. the Notorious B.I.G., also grew up in the neighborhood, on St. James Place.

About Instrata Park Slope
I lived at Instrata Park Slope for 3 years. I reluctantly moved out only because of COVID changes requiring my family to work from home. We now need 3+ bedrooms.
It's in a great location on the edge of Park Slope and Gowanus giving you the mix of Park Slope convenience and Gowanus eclectic. A few blocks from Barclays with access to all trains.
The building is beautiful and very well maintained. The apartments are on the larger side square footage wise than other new construction. There is an amazing amount of closet space and well thought out living space. The walls, ceilings and floors are very well insulated. I rarely heard a neighbor above or next to me. The building has a large gym (w Peloton), yoga room, indoor social space and many outdoor social spaces. There are 2 elevators which both work 98% of the time.
Parking!! There is a fairly large garage under the building, easy access and convenient.
Management & Maintenance: Buzzuto
I have not had many issues while living here other than the occasional light bulb needing to be replaced or me locking myself out. The Instrata Team (management, maintenance, porters and doormen) are a great group. Each person is very friendly, responsive and professional. They work hard to keep up the luxury standard of the building when it comes to service and building appearance.

Warmer weather has me dreaming of sitting on the patio of Red Hook Lobster Pound and demolishing a fresh lobster roll. Perfect place to gather with all your foodie friends and indulge in some of the best seafood Brooklyn has to offer 🦞🦪
L Train Vintage is, without a doubt, the best vintage store I've ever visited. I adore old items, but if you don't have the time or patience to look through each and every rack, it can be rather irritating. It's easy to find a certain item of clothing without having to sift through racks of garish, cheap merchandise because the store is professionally managed and divides the many styles of apparel nicely. The store is organized into sections with racks of related things. They feature a whole section dedicated to men's apparel and accessories. The ladies have their own side, which is equally as large. Long and short gowns from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s adorn the walls. They have everything a vintage aficionado like me could want and then some. They even have amusing outfits. I bought a dress with what appears to be yarn or synthetic hair on it that had an Inca emblem on it. Because you can only bring in 5 items and there is no place to put what you don't want, the fitting room is a bit of a pain. People just leave their clothing and hangars in the fitting room, I saw. I understand why the rooms are likewise locked. I was out shopping at the time, so I had to go retrieve the guy multiple times. They have a large selection of denim jackets, a surprising amount of jerseys (not of well-known teams, mind you), and a vivid button down option. They also had a few of pairs of shoes strewn about the place.

I'm very glad I came upon One Love Animal Hospital in Cobble Hill. Everyone here is wonderful, from the front desk ladies to the techs and physicians, and they will provide your pet with the best treatment possible. Dr. Bucher comes highly recommended by me. In addition, when compared to other veterinarians, the fees are fair. My 14-year-old dog became seriously ill recently, and I was afraid he wouldn't live. When this happened, I was out of town and rushed back to Brooklyn, where One Love quickly accommodated us. They were amazing with him and even phoned me every day while he was in the hospital to keep me updated and answer any questions I had. I was surprised that they were coordinating my dog's care with the hospital because this is something I never expected, and unfortunately, it's treatment I can only dream of receiving in my own health care (If only we could find human doctors as kind and skilled as these vets!). Every contact demonstrates that the doctors at One Love genuinely care about the animals that they treat. My dog is improving as a result of their medical knowledge, and I couldn't be happier or more relieved!

I have to let people know about what is REALLY going on at Gersi restaurant. It's fantastic! I live in the area and intended to keep this to myself, but it's too good not to share. The food is simple and unpretentious, and I've tried everything on the menu. The branzino, roasted chicken, lemon pasta, and lasagna are some of my faves. The atmosphere is welcoming, as if you're dropping by an "old friend's" house for dinner and beverages. The backyard is fantastic, and the bathroom is delightfully kitschy. But in addition to wonderful food, the real reason this is such a great place is the people who work there. Everyone in the kitchen, from the proprietors to the bartenders, wait staff, busboys, and the Chef, is a family, and that feeling is passed on to the guests. So, since Gersi is family and love is meant to be shared, I guess I'll just share the love. . Wonderful ambiance and thoughtful service.

As a Williamsburg local, I tend to advocate for Brooklyn-based businesses, restaurants, and things to do. Quite a few of my local friends travel into Manhattan to eat, catch up with friends, and shop, but I find it more enjoyable to seek out entertainment closer to home. That being said, exploring other BK neighborhoods is so much fun! What are some of your favorite spots in different neighborhoods and why? I'm looking for restaurant/bar recs, park recs, unique date spots, places to shop, and more! My best recommendation for a night of fun with friends is Royal Palms.
