I was tired of having bad haircuts by going to the wrong barbers. It’s difficult to find a good barber these days. But after years of bad haircuts, I have finally found a barber who knows who to handle my hair. This is not even a big saloon shop; just a small barbershop around the corner. I went here two days ago with no hopes of getting a suitable haircut. I told them about my history with bad barbers. They told me to rest assured but that’s what every barber says. However, when he started to shape my hair, I knew he was getting somewhere. In the end, it was the exact haircut; I have been waiting for a long time. He was putting a lot of effort even into the smallest details. The guy’s name was Omar and I couldn’t thank him enough. The overall atmosphere was good too. As long as these guys are working in this saloon, I will be coming here.

Everyone wants to escape the everyday hustle of New York. What’s better than a beach to do it? Wherever I want a break from my work, I just come to the amazing Brighton Beach. The cool breeze coming from the ocean is so soothing and refreshing. It takes away all the stress from my mind. Sometimes I come here alone, sometimes with friends but recently I came here with my girlfriend. We enjoyed everything this beach and its surroundings have to offer. After spending some quality time at the beach, we went to Brighton Beach Avenue to check out some Russian and European food. There are shopping places as well where I don’t usually go but this time I came with my girlfriend and the girls love shopping. We ended our trip by going to the grand theater for a concert. I have to say the Local talent here is amazing. The overall experience of this area is amazing, you all should come here and relish some time with your loved ones.

The whole pandemic lockdown and chaos left me psychologically tired (I am sure many of you would have felt the same). I needed a way to get busy in something that would give me peace of mind and happiness. I started looking for some volunteering opportunities online and came across “Shorefront Jewish Community Council” that was very close to my apartment. At first, I was nervous. I’d never done anything like that before (but I guess pandemic has changed us in so many ways). I was given a chance to assist the staff in helping the community members and honestly, I’d never felt better before. When I was working with them, I closely watched how senior members of our society who deserve peace and happiness were struggling to even get enough meals for the day. Working in “Shorefront Jewish Community Council” gave me a chance to look at things from a new angle. Soon, I started sitting with groups of senior citizens and the company always brought me joy and satisfaction. What I loved most about this organization was that everyone there was serving selflessly regardless of race, religion, and ethnicity. I also took part in many fundraising events for the organization. Youngsters like me don’t like to be part of such organizations but I would say we need peace and emotional connection more than anything and helping your community is the best thing to start with.
